Less than three weeks left. I am sure everyone has been anxiously awaiting pictures of the big belly, but I am allergic to pregnancy pictures. I think mostly because I sit around in Grant's pajamas, trying to find a comfortable position, using my belly as a shelf to hold gigantic bowls of ice cream. Not a big fan of being photographed like that. (And no one wants to see that.) I was all gussied up for church one day, so Grant snapped some photos. Mostly I wanted to capture how adorable Wes is with "baby sister in the big baby belly."
Wes is getting quite impatient to see his baby sister. He will come hug the belly and say, "Mom, want baby sister to come out now." Then, when I say, "She's not ready yet" he pats my tummy and says, "Still cookin'."
Every time he sees a baby in the store or at church he gets very excited. He will want to touch the baby, and tickle it's toes. Then he will look at me and say, "Mom, I want to snuggle her." I have to say, no, we can't snuggle that (random stranger's) baby, we have to wait for our baby to come out. He is too impatient for that, evidently, because he always says, "I want that baby!"
Meanwhile, there is some major nesting going on in the Johnson household. I am trying to get the house cleaned, and I mean really CLEAN. I am also trying to bottle stuff and freeze meals here and there on top of getting the nursery ready. That is my favorite part. It is fun to decorate for a little girl after having a little boy. I have been digging out my old doll house and girlie toys. I have been a sucker for all things pink and frilly. I will post some pics of the baby's room as soon as it is finished. There are some days that I can't believe I only have three weeks left and that seems like such a tiny amount of time with so much to do still... and then I try to get a decent night's rest and I toss and turn and get up to pee several times and it's those times I can't believe I still have three, whole, long weeks to go!
